1948 Packard Custom Eight Navigation
For 1948, the entire Packard line-up was completely restyled. For Packard, it represented an all new look - a complete break from its pre-war design. The Custom Eight series was Packard's top-of-the-line series. The Custom Eight was instantly recognizable by its egg crate-style front grille and special trim. It was powered by Packard's legendary in-line, 356 cubic-inch straight-eight motor that developed 160 horsepower. The factory price of the Custom Eight club sedan was $3,700.
A complete restoration of this Packard was completed in late 2013. Its first appearance at an automobile event following that restoration was the 2014 Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens Concours d'Elegance.
