1976 Ford Bronco SUV

The original Jeep offered American GIs with all-terrain capabilities, simplicity, and adaptability. The Jeep spawned a host of competing designs and a burgeoning aftermarket industry provided a plethora of accessories to ignite enthusiasm. Ford discovered a niche market for a car-like, four-wheel-drive vehicle with highway performance and the ability to traverse the rugged backcountry. It offered comfort and performance.

The Ford Bronco was introduced in late 1965 for the 1966 model year. Bodystyles included a roadster, pickup, and wagon and were fitted with Falcon-based mechanical components. Buyers were able to customize and individualize their vehicles through a host of options.

A successful marketing campaign and motorsports helped boost the appeal of the Bronco. Bill Stroppe successfully campaigned a Bronco in the Baja during the late 1960s and early 1970s, and Doug Nash campaigned a flyweight AA/Funny Car named the 'Bronco Buster' in 1966.

This Ford Bronco has been given a sympathetic ground-up restoration. It was given a small block Ford crate motor mated to the correct automatic transmission. It has power steering and power brakes. Currently, the Bronco's mileage is recorded at 6,139.
