1973 Porsche 911E Navigation
This Porsche 911E is from 1973, the last production year for the long-hood, small bumper 911. Thus, it includes all of the upgrades carried out over the nearly decade long model run.
This car was completed at the Zuffenhausen Porsche factory in the spring of 1973. It left the factory finished in black with an interior trimmed in brown leatherette, and equipped for the U.S. market. It was given a long list of optional equipment, including Fuchs alloy wheels, sway bars mounted both front and rear, wheel well moldings, tinted glass, an engine compartment light, fog lights, antenna, and sports seats.
The early history of this car is not known, but it is believed to have returned to German at some point in the 1990s, where it was owned by an airline pilot, possibly an American based in Germany at the time. During the late 1990s, and while still in Germany, it was treated to a restoration. The car later returned to the United States where it won several PCA trophies and awards.By Daniel Vaughan | Feb 2015
