The Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 was introduced in January of 1964. It had a steel tube chassis that was 50mm longer in wheelbase than that of its predecessor, the 250 GTE. It featured an independent front suspension and a live rear axle. Power was from a 4-liter V12 engine coupled to a four-speed overdrive gearbox. At the Paris Auto Show in October of 1957, the world was introduced to its replacement, the most refined Ferrari to date - 365 GT 2+2. It was based on the contemporary 330 GTC with the chassis comprised of oval and round steel tubing, and featured an independent suspension all around with Koni's hydro-pneumatic self-leveling system at the rear. The engine and drive-train were mounted with rubber bushes to insulate the car's occupants from vibration and noise. Standard equipment included the ZF power-assisted steering and air conditioning. The 4.4-liter V12 engine offered 320 horsepower and was coupled to a five-speed gearbox. Zero-to-sixty was accomplished in 7.0 seconds.
In total, 800 examples were completed by the time production ceased in 1971.
This particular example was delivered new to Canadian Ferrari importer George Woolley in Montreal, Quebec. It was finished in Argento silver on Blue color combination. It remained in Canada until 1988.
The car was sold to an individual living in Florida in 1992 and later displaced at the Cavallino Classic where it was awarded the Preservation Cup. Three years later it would take second place in this same class.
It is believed that this car has been given just one re-spray and a new muffler system installed in 2013. It retains its original color combination of silver with blue leather and blue carpets.By Daniel Vaughan | Oct 2015
