1934 Packard 1108 Twelve Sport Sedan

This Derham body Sport Sedan began its life mounted on a 1930 Packard 745 owned by John Bromley. When he purchased a Packard Twelve chassis in 1934, he had the body transferred to that car.

By the mid-1950s, the car had been sold to a Packard dealer, where it was disassembled for restoration. Progress stalled, and in 1965 it was sold to Tom Dunaway Jr. of South Carolina, who immediately advertised it for sale. It was purchased by Ken Vaughn, sight unseen, who had the project shipped to his Southern California home. After six years of dedicated work, the restoration was completed. Over the next few years, Mr. Vaughn traveled around 5,000 miles in the Derham Twelve. The car won awards at CCCA Grand Classics and major West Coast concours, including a First in Class and Gwenn Graham Most Elegant Car Award at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in 1972.

Near the close of 1998, the car was sold to Otis Chandler, who returned it to the lawn at Pebble Beach in 1999, earning a Second in Class with its then-30-year-old restoration. The car remained with Mr. Chandler until his passing in 2006.
