Buick built just 1,830 Super four-door estate wagons in 1953, and very few of these Golden Anniversary models remain in existed. It is believed that just 20 examples have survived. This particular example has been upgraded to Roadmaster specifications with a modern carburetor with electric choke and high flow air filter. The 322 cubic-inch Fireball V8 engine offered 170 horsepower when backed by the Twin-Turbine Buick Dynaflow automatic transmission. The engine has 8.5 to 1 compression ratio along with Turbo-Top pistons which helped improve zero backpressure mufflers.
This estate wagon has optional power steering and power brakes along with coil springs at all four corners and an x-braced frame. It has lavender paint, chrome and sweep spear mouldings, and richly finished wood. Optional accessories include a front mount sun visor and side-mount spotlight mirror. The vinyl top material is color matched to the vinyl and cloth interior with wood grained dash.
