The earliest MG sports car was the 1929 M type 'Midget'. The M type had an 847 cc four-cylinder overhead cam engine that produced 20 horsepower. The M type was replaced in turn by the C, D, and J Type Midgets all using the same basic two main bearing engine. In 1934 MG introduced the PA Midget with a strengthened 3 main bearing 36 horsepower engine. About 2500 were built. The last of the 4 cylinder overhead cam Midgets was the MG PB introduced in 1936. About 600 were produced. After the PB the T series MG with 4 cylinder push rod engine began with the MG TA. This 1936 MG PB, finished in two-tone red with red interior, was recently restored. The interior body wood has been replaced and the original sheet metal has been restored.
