1989 Porsche 911 Speedster

Some automobiles are considered collectible from their debut and Porsche has sold many such sports cars in its fabled 65-plus year history. This Speedster, one of only 823, not only celebrates the end of the First Generation's Air Cooled 911's dating back to 1964, but it also evokes the legendary 1954-58 356 Speedster in name and image. In the 911's early year's some enthusiasts tried to recreate a Speedster variant but it was Porsche President, Peter Schutz, that was the catalyst necessary to design and develop the new prototype. Its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 9187 caused a sensation. The Speedster's 'M491 Turbo Look' wide body option along with its unique aluminum framed windshield, which is 3 inches lower and raked 5 degrees' flatter set it apart from the Cabriolet. When the roof is raised, the silhouette echoes that of the original 1954 Speedster and makes this 911 look deadly sinister.

During the current owner's care, they have driven the Speedster to a number of National Porsche Parade events, displayed it in Concours Shows winning 'People's Choice' awards and it's been a yearly veteran of numerous 'Woodward Dream Cruise' events.

This particular Speedster was produced on 07/06/1989 and originally delivered to California with the following options: California emissions, raised hub steering wheel, shorten gear shift lever, limited slip differential, Blaupunkt 'Charleston' radio, air conditioning, headlight washer, air conditioning and rear luggage compartment.
