2013 Chevrolet Corvette Hatchback Coupe

The 2013 Corvette Indy 500 Pace car featured a paint scheme and full body stripe similar to that of the 60th Anniversary Package available on all 2013 Corvette models. Corvette celebrated its 60th birthday in 2013, but at the previous year's Indy race, Chevrolet also celebrated another significant milestone. It marked the 23rd time that a Chevrolet was used as the official Pace Car for the race, and the 11th time that a Corvette paced the field. No other manufacturer or car model has paced the Indy 500 race more than Chevy and Corvette, respectively.

The Corvette ZR1 also includes Magnetic Selective Ride Control with a track-level suspension, and a Launch Control system with Performance Traction Management (PTM) technology that optimizes traction for greater and more consistent on-track performance. The ZR1 was the ultimate expression at the time of the Corvette technology-driven performance legacy - as the fastest production model ever offered by GM - with a top speed of 205 mph. ZR1 also marked a new lap time of 7:19.63 around Germany's legendary Nurburgring, which improved on the previous ZR1 benchmark there by more than 6 seconds. Oh, and by the way, anything under 8 minutes is considered amazingly fast. The bottom line is that the ZR1 offered more performance and more technology than the European supercars of the time at a fraction of the price.
