1963 Citroen DS19 Concorde Coupe

By the 1950s, the days of coachbuilt cars were in serious decline, but one of the most successful carrosserie in France, Henri Chapron, was still very much in business. Three years after Citroen first introduced the DS 19, Chapron bought a complete car from a Paris dealer and designed and built his first modified body called La Croisette. The car was a success and once orders started to arrive, Citroen eventually allowed him to buy chassis directly from the factory. Even though Citroen created its own high-end models, such as the Pallas and the Prestige, a few customers wanted even more exclusivity. Along with his Le Caddy and Le Dandy, Chapron introduced the two-door Concorde Coupe, and a total of 38 of these cars were eventually built. The Concorde featured a larger rear cabin and greater headroom, and other technical innovations such as turning headlights were incorporated into Chapron's cars.

This Concorde Coupe was acquired by the Mullin Museum in 2016.
