1947 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith Navigation
First introduced in 1947, the Silver Wraith is an evolution of the pre-war Wraith offering a new chassis while fitted with a 4,257cc (260 CID) six-cylinder producing 130 horsepower developed before the war. A four-speed manual gearbox is mated to the engine with its shifter mounted on either the floor or column. Hydraulic brakes were used for the first time. Disc wheels and whitewall tires replaced wire wheels. Customers were offered a choice of coachbuilders to design and individualize their particular cars including this example which wears coachwork by W.M. Meredith & Sons. Silver Wraiths continued to be built through 1959. This three-owner car with known ownership history remains in all-original, unrestored condition.
