1984 BMW M6 Coupe

In 1983 BMW took the M88/3 inline, 6-cylinder engine, a modified version of the M88/1, from the M1 and put it in the 6-Series E24 chassis, and thus created the M635CSi (dubbed simply 'M6' in North America and Japan). The first generation M635CSi was critically acclaimed for its combination of elegant, aggressive 'shark-nose' styling, its luxury cockpit and its strong performance. Its top speed approached 160 mph. Its distinguishing features are body-color side-view mirrors, BBS RS wheels, rear lip spoiler, larger front air dam, larger front brakes and a 10mm lower ride height. In 1987, Road & Track touted the American M6 as being one of the 10 fastest cars in America.
