1991 Pontiac Grand Prix Navigation
In 1991, Roger Penske returned to full time NASCAR racing with the #2 Miller Genuine Draft Pontiac. Its driver was Rusty Wallace. 'Penske Racing South', as it was called at the time, purchased 4 new Ronnie Hopkins chassis to start the 1991 race season. These first four cars were numbered PRS-001 through 004. This racer, PRS-002, which was built to run on intermediate or approximately 1.5-mile speedways, examples being the Atlanta, Charlotte, Darlington and Texas tracks. The racer was verified as one of the original four PRS cars with the help of Don Miller-Penske Team President and Andrew Scrivens-Penske Lead Engineer.
