1954 Hudson Super Jet Six Sedan

The 1953 Hudson Jet was offered in basic Jet, and upmarket Super Jet trim levels. It was an entry-level vehicle with impressive quality and startling performance. The interior was comfortable and spacious, and numerous features were offered - including Hudson's 'Twin H-Power' intake system. During its introductory year, a total of 21,143 Jets were sold, followed by 14,224 for the final 1954 year of Detroit Hudson production.

This particular example was built during September 1953. It is an early-production 1954 Hudson Super Jet Sedan. It has never been fully restored and is highly original. It entered the Hostetler collection in 1987 from Mike Whited of Michigan. The car has a Dual Range Hydra-Matic Drive automatic transmission, push-button radio, and a 'Continental' spare tire kit. The engine is a 202 cubic-inch inline L-head six-cylinder unit fitted with a Carter one-barrel carburetor. There are four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes located at all four corners.
