1938 Hudson Custom Eight Series 87 Navigation
This Hudson Series 87 Country Club 8 Touring Sedan was acquired by the Hostetler Collection in 2006. It was the most expensive vehicle in the 1938 Hudson lineup, with its $1,220 base price. The Touring Sedan featured the 'bustle back' or 'bubble' trunk designed to accommodate larger luggage. It also has a folding tray table for rear seat occupants discreetly built into the front seat-back.

Prior to entering Eldon Hostetler's collection, it was owned by the Soneff Brothers - antique car dealers and Hudson specialists in Denver, Colorado. It had been in Denver for about two decades. In May 2006, the Soneffs sold the Hudson to Mr. Hostetler.

This car has the Bendix Electric Hand shifter. It has the one-year-only frontal styling, a wheelbase that measures 129 inches, four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes, and the 254 CID L-head eight-cylinder engine.
