1929 Pierce-Arrow Model 125 Navigation
Ray Rumford discovered this Pierce-Arrow Model 125 Roadster on a ranch in central Oregon. Mr. Rumford contacted Sam Merrell, who purchased the car and brought it to Beaverton, Oregon, and put it in storage until 1993. The former owner of the car transferred ownership, but not possession, and it was he who arranged for the restoration over a period of five years, including rebuilding the wood structure and redoing the interior. The previous owner took possession in 2012, however, it was not in operating condition. A new 1930 Pierce-Arrow engine block was fitted at the time.
The car wears an older restoration and is finished in tan with brown fenders and beltline. It has a tan canvas top and a matching tan leather interior. It is equipped with dual side-mount spares, a trunk rack, and whitewall tires.
Pierce-Arrow built 8,422 units in 1929 and this example was priced at $2,875 when new. It has a 133-inch wheelbase and is powered by a 125-horsepower inline eight-cylinder engine.By Daniel Vaughan | Jan 2020
