1984 Tiga SC84 Navigation
This 1984 Tiga SC84, currently owned by Rock & Roll Hall of Famer John Oates and his wife, Aimee, has been raced extensively in the SCCA from 1984 through 1989, finishing well and going to the SCCA Runoffs. The car received a restoration beginning in the fall of 2017 and continuing in the spring of 2018, with the work including an engine rebuild, by Apex Vintage Sports and Racing Cars of New Hill, North Carolina. . John Oates subsequently acquired the SC84 and sent it to Gunnar Racing in West Palm Beach, Florida, to fully race prepared for vintage racing. Gunnar Racing fitted it with a new clutch, gearbox, and bearings. The body was removed, repaired, and reinstalled. It was given a custom livery by Kevin Jeannette.
John Oates drove the car at Palm Beach International Raceway in December 2019 during test sessions. It was driven 15 to 20 laps at speed on the track that day.By Daniel Vaughan | Jun 2020
