1981 Triumph TR8 Coupe

The Triumph TR8 is a V8 version of the Triumph TR7. The TR8's wedge shape was designed by Harris Mann and was built in both coupe and convertible body styles. It was sold through its British Leyland's Jaguar/Rover/Triumph dealerships. The TR8's V8 engine was shaped with the Rover SD1. The engine originated in the 1960s Buick all-aluminum V8 that Rover acquired from General Motors in the mid-1960s. In North America, the TR8 original sold for approximately $11,000. Of the roughly 2,800 TR8s that were produced, only around 1,000 convertibles and 200 coupes are thought to remain.

The majority of TR8s were sold in the United States and Canada, and very few exist outside of those markets. As a result, they are often exported when they come up for sale. This example has been lovingly restored by its current owner, who is one of the leading experts on the model.
