2012 Lexus LFA Nurburgring Package Navigation
Only 25 examples of the Nürburgring Package were bestowed upon US-delivered Lexus LFA models.
The Lexus LFA supercar made its production debut in 2010 and it came equipped with a 4.8-liter V10 engine, exquisite engineering, and bold styling. It quickly established a reputation as one of the world's most capable production supercars to ever put rubber on the road.
Akira Iida drove an LFA in August of 2011 at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, completing the course in 7 minutes, 14.64 seconds, setting the record for a production car on spec tires in the process. Toyota Motor Company president Akio Toyoda, under the nom de guerre 'Morizo Kinoshita', later co-drove a Lexus LFA to SP8 class win at the 2014 running of the Nürburgring 24. When the company made an exclusive and even more potent version of the LFA, it was naturally dubbed the LFA Nürburgring Package.
The LFA Nürburgring Package came with numerous carbon fiber exterior components, a revised front splitter, winglets on the nose, and a fixed rear wing. These changes increased the car's overall downforce and reduced its top speed in the process. To compensate, engineers coaxed an additional 10 horsepower from the engine, bringing the total to 562 brake horsepower. With a six-speed auto-clutch manual transmission, the shift times for the Nürburgring Packagedecreased by 0.15 seconds. Additionally, the standard wheels were replaced with those of magnesium sourced from BBS, and they sported more aggressive Bridgestone tires. To improve handling and lower the car's overall center of gravity, the ride height was reduced by 0.4 inches.
Lexus would build 500 examples of the LFA with 64 equipped with the Nürburgring Package, and 25 of those destined for the United States.
This particular Lexus LFA Nürburgring Package is serial number 3030. It left Japan's Motomachi plant in March 2012 finished in black over a black Alcantara interior with plenty of carbon fiber trim. It is one of three Nürburgring LFA examples wearing black and delivered new to the U.S. Most examples of the Nürburgring LFA wore bright orange or white exterior paint schemes.
Currently, there are 930 miles on the odoemter and is currently in the care of the Fox Collection. The vehicle's first owner acquired the car via otor City Lexus of Bakersfield, California.By Daniel Vaughan | Dec 2021
