1911 Cadillac Model 30 Roadster

After Cadillac became a member of General Motors, its model lineup was consolidated into one four-cylinder powered car, the Model 30. This allowed Cadillac to become more efficient, reduce the price by over 25 percent in 1909 from the previous year, and improved many of its mechanical components including the engine. The 3.7-liter inline four-cylinder engine produced 30 horsepower and was paired with a three-speed, selective sliding gear transmission. Stopping power was courtesy of two-wheel mechanical brakes. The newly designed bodies had flat front fenders, full running boards, and dust shields.

This particular Cadillac Model 30 wears a three-passenger roadster body with the 'mother-in-law' rear jump seat. It is believed that its body and much of the wood frame are original to the vehicle. The exterior is finished in green paint with tan, button-tufted upholstery with period-correct pinstriping on the fenders. The 26-inch, wood-spoke 'artillery' wheels wear Firestone tires. Brass equipment includes the headlamps and lanterns, along with the optional brass-framed windshield.
