1959 Maserati 3500GT Coupe

This 1959 Maserati 3500 GT left the factory wearing Grigio Topo (Mouse Grey) over a white interior. Beneath the bonnet lurked a 3,485cc dual overhead camshaft inline six-cylinder engine breathing through three Weber 42 DCOE twin-choke carburetors and delivering 220 horsepower at 5,500 RPM. It has a five-speed ZF manual gearbox, front disc brakes, and rear drums. At the front is an independent suspension with coil springs while the rear relies on a live axle with semi-elliptical leaf springs.

This Maserati was delivered new to French concessionaire Jean Thépenier for use as a demonstrator during the 1959 Paris Motor Show. This is where M. Galada of Cannes, France became the car's first owner and would retain it until 1975. The second owner had the transmission updated to the five-speed ZF unit.

The car would change hands two more times before it entered the care of a French owner who would own it for 27 years. During that time, the car received a mechanical restoration overseen by Maserati specialist Franco Tralli. During this time, the car was repainted by Carrozzeria Franchini of Modena in its current color scheme of gray with a contrasting dark blue top and matching midnight blue interior.
