1912 Ford Model T Torpedo Runabout

Success came when the inexpensive, reliable, and easily maintained Model T helped bring American life from the horse and buggy age into the automobile age. Fifteen million were made between 1908 and 1927. One of the T's annoying faults was the location of the gasoline tank under the driver's seat. It was hard to get at, and the car had no gas gauge. Ford made the decision in 1908 to put the steering wheel on the left-hand side and never changed it.

This is a Model T Torpedo Roadster and is powered by a 2.9-liter Monobloc four-cylinder engine delivering 22.5 horsepower. It has a 100-inch wheelbase, transverse semi-elliptic suspension, and planetary gears (two forward operated by a foot pedal and reverse on another pedal).
