1932 Buick Series 90 Convertible Phaeton

For 1932 the Series 90 Buick was offered with numerous bodywork configurations, one of which was the single-year-only Model 98 Convertible Phaeton. The Model 98 featured two-doored coachwork from Fisher mounted on a chassis with a 134-inch wheelbase, allowing seating for five under a convertible top with removable center posts and roll-up windows. A total of 268 Model 98s were produced, and only six are known to have survived. Power is from a 344.8 cubic-inch overhead valve straight-eight backed by a three-speed manual transmission with Wizard Control shifting. A red button to the left of the pedals allows for clutch-less shifting through the vacuum-operated Wizard Control system, while controls for the Ride Regulator can be seen on the steering column. The Ride Regulator suspension system was only available in 1932 and allows selection from seven different settings to adjust shock absorber stiffness.
