1986 Aston Martin V8 Navigation
This Aston Martin V8 Volante is believed to be one of 216 Series 2 Volantes produced. It is equipped with a numbers-matching fuel-injected V-8 engine paired with a five-speed ZF manual transmission. It has a Midnight Blue exterior with a Fawn soft-top over a Fawn leather interior.
Aston Martin produced the Volante for eleven years; it was an open-top version of the V8 coupe and was introduced in June 1978. The fully lined soft top was power-operated, and the potent V8 engine complemented the car's muscular character.
The V-8 range was updated in 1983 with revised heating and ventilation controls, and BBS cross-spoke alloy wheels. An updated 'Series 2' version of the Volante arrived in January 1986, featuring Weber-Marelli electronic fuel injection and a restyled, flat hood.
This particular example left the factory on April 21, 1986, and sent to the United States. Much of its history remains a mystery, but it was in Wester United States from the early 2000s, registered in Wyoming and serviced in Idaho, Nevada, and Utah.
