1989 Aston Martin Lagonda Sedan

  • Chassis Number: SCFDL01S4KTL13614
  • Engine Number: V/585/3614
The latest version of the Aston Martin Lagonda was launched to the public in 1976 and was created to help rescue Aston Martin from the brink of bankruptcy. The design was by William Towns and it was given an aerodynamic design and a potent powerplant making it the most powerful automobile of its day. It was also among one of the most expensive cars in the world, and only a few examples were ever assembled.

This car was delivered new to the United States and was one of the last of these super saloons to be imported. It is painted in black over parchment leather upholstery. It is believed to have been first registered in California, then spent most of the id-1990s in the Chicago area before returning to the West Coast. The car was later registered in Beverly Hills. In September of 199, the car was purchased by its current owner, by which time it had covered approximately 10,000 miles. The car has covered 12,000 miles and has been well taken care of since new.

The car is powered by a 5340cc DOHC Alloy V8 engine and fitted with a Weber-Marelli fuel injection system producing 289 horsepower. There is a three-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission and four-wheel disc brakes.

In 2010, this Aston Martin was brought to Gooding & Company's Scottsdale Auction where it was estimated to sell for $40,000 - $50,000 and offered without reserve. As bidding came to a close, the lot had been sold for the sum of $56,100, inclusive of buyer's premium.
