MITSUBISHI MOTORS SALES UP 13.7 PERCENT FOR JUNE AND 30.2 PERCENT IN THE FIRST HALF OF 2014

Tue, Jul 01, 2014 - Cypress, California - Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA) experienced another excellent sales month with June sales of 6,021 units, a 13.7 percent increase over the sales total from June 2013.

Mitsubishi Motors sales in the first half of 2014 are up 30.2 year-to-date from the same duration as last year, making this the best first six months of sales (January through June) in three years and the second best since 2008.

Mitsubishi Motors' American-made Outlander Sport 5-passenger compact crossover/SUV led the way with sales of 2,433 units for the month, 15,322 units for the first six months of the year. June was the fourth consecutive month that Outlander Sport sales exceeded 2,400 units; the four previous sales months have ranked among the top five best sales months in the model's history.

The highly fuel-efficient and affordably-priced Mirage 5-door sub-compact experienced sales of 1,451 units for the month, 8,267 units for the first half of 2014. Mirage sales for June were the third best monthly sales total for that model since it was introduced in September 2013.

'We are very excited to see our sales momentum continue through the month of June,' said MMNA Executive Vice President of Sales, Don Swearingen. 'We've had an outstanding first half of 2014, and with our new 2015 Mitsubishi Motors models set to arrive in dealerships in July, we anticipate even more enthusiasm from new-car shoppers directed toward the Mitsubishi Motors brand.'

Other highlights of June sales include:

◾Total Mitsubishi sales are up 30.2 percent year-to-date.

◾Outlander sales were up 37.9 percent year-to-date. This was the best January through June sales total for Outlander since 2008.

◾Outlander Sport sales are up 23.1 percent year-to-date. This was the best January through June sales total in the model's history.

◾Lancer Evolution sales total 1,569 and are up 14.5 percent year-to-date. This was the best January through June sales total since 2008 for the EVO.
