Rocco Motto
Rocco Motto
The Motto Company was founded in Turin in 1932. Their purpose was to produce unfinished body-shells and supply them to coachbuilders and low-volume automobile manufacturers for completion. The list of marquees included Fiat.
The rise in automobile racing during the close of the 1940's introduced new marketing capabilities. Motto quickly capitalized on their expertise by creating lightweight, aluminum bodies for these racecars. The list of manufacturers includes Ferrari, Abarth, Maserati, Osca, and more.
Control was passed to the son, Francesco, in 1965 who switched the focus of the company to recreational and special purpose vehicles.
