1991 Chevrolet Camaro

The Chevy Camaro, available as either a coupe or convertible, came in RS and Z28 trim models. Chevrolet introduced their 1991 Camaro lineup during the 1990 calendar year; the extended production year helped Chevrolet increase the production of the new models.

Standard equipment on the Camaro RS included a driver's side airbag, new aero-style rocker panels, two new exterior colors, a heavy-duty battery, and a 3.1-liter V6 engine. Other standard equipment included an AM/FM stereo, power steering, a rear decklid spoiler, a rear hatch with automatic pull-down, side window defoggers, special instrumentation with a tachometer, a sport suspension, cloth reclining bucket seats, and dual color-keyed sport style outside rearview mirrors. The convertible body styles came standard with a 5-liter V8. The base transmission was a five-speed manual.

The big news for 1991 was the return of the Z28 Camaro. They rode on 16-inch wheels, had aero-styled rocker panels, a high profile rear spoiler, two new exterior colors, a 5-liter V8, a heavy-duty battery, and a relocated high-mounted stop lamp. An optional 5.8-liter TPI V8 could be purchased. Other standard equipment included safety armrests, front head restraints, inertia locking folding front seatbacks, a leather-wrapped gearshift knob, specific body striping, a front air dam, special instrumentation with a tachometer, side window defoggers, a special performance ride and handling suspension, specific taillights and a visor vanity mirror.
