1959 AC Greyhound Navigation
The AC Greyhound was produced from 1959 through 1963 with eighty-three examples of the 2-door, four-seater being produced. The Greyhound was available with either a 2- or 2.2-liter inline-six-cylinder Bristol engine. There was also a 2,55 liter Ford Zerphy engine offered, delivering just over 100 horsepower. The suspension was independent coil springs which provided good handling and a pleasant ride. The aluminum-bodied Greyhound received most of the technical components from its siblings, the Ace and Aceca but rested on a wheelbase that was 10 inches longer, and coil springs were used instead of the front transverse leaf springs. It had a rack-and-pinion steering, a four-speed manual gearbox with overdrive being optional, and a ladder-frame chassis. The front disc brakes measured 11.75 inches while the back were 11-inch drums.
Depending on the configuration, the 2-liter Bristol-engined Greyhound had a top speed of around 110 mph and could go from zero-to-sixty mph in 11.4 seconds.
