1906 Stanley Steamer EX

This Stanley Steamer Runabout was built by Stanley Carriage Co. of Newton, MA, and is one of approximately 1,000 known to exist today.

The car is powered by an 18-inch boiler and burner (3-inch bore and 4-inch stroke), producing ten horsepower.

A world speed record of 127.6 mph was set by a 1906 Stanley Steamer. The sequence of events are: light the pilot, turn on the gas, produce steam, and off you go. It takes about one-half hour from lighting the pilot until you start to drive.
