2007 Lucra LC470

The car you see in front of you is the new LC 470 and is the product of 3 years of collaboration between Lucra Cars, Beck Development, Swift Engineering, and Guldstrand Motorsports. Growing up in both England in America, there was the belief that one could either be fast in the corners or on the straightaway. LC wanted to merge these two cultures. For the shape, they looked to the beautifully styled European racing cars of the 50's, whose aesthetic has unfortunately been virtually abandoned. We set out to build a car that was reminiscent of the era, with the lightweight and balance of a mid engine European sportscar, and the power of American muscle.

Some of you will, of course, see the resemblance to the cars that Chuck Beck built in the 90's. LC saw some real potential in Beck's car; incredible performance yet lacking the comfort of a daily driver. LC approached him 3 years ago with the idea of completely redesigning the car with more interior room, a wider stance, and additional modern components while maintaining the spirit of a true driver's car. Beck achieved these ideas in the design the of new concept; a 2000 lb car maintaining a 53% tail bias to drive like a mid engine car. (As Chuck says, 'The front tires are only for parking on.') The new design was then put into production with Swift Engineering.

Once a GM power plant and suspension was chosen, the next logical step was to approach racing legend Dick Guldstrand with the idea. Very enthusiastic about the project, he developed the Guldstrand Performance Package and the Guldstrand Sport Package with high revving ZZ4, custom LC 470 cam, and Weber side draft carbs. Each
LC 470 goes through Guldstrand Motorsports for final setup.
