The Oakland Motor Company was founded in 1907 by Edward M. Murphy, and by 1910 the company was owned entirely by General Motors. In 1926 the Pontiac was introduced as a 'companion car' to Oakland, but by the end of the 1931 season, the Oakland name was retired. This particular car is a good example of one of the few sporty cars of the late teens.
