History

Jensen Motors, Ltd, of Britain, was a coachbuilding firm that eventually turned into an automobile manufacturer. It was started by brothers Richard and Alan Jensen who purchased W.J. Smiths & Sons where they had been working and renamed it Jensen Motors in 1934. Their coachwork was applied to such memorable names as Singer, Standard, Wolseley, and Morris.

Their first production automobile model was the Jensen Type S which entered production in 1935 and would remain until 1941. This was followed by the H-Type that was introduced in 1938. These would be the only post-war Jensen automobile models. In the post-war era, the company would prosper with several memorable models such as the Interceptor, the CV8, FF, GT, S-V8, and many more.
