2009 Renault Laguna

NEW LAGUNA, FOR DRIVING PLEASURE AND PEACE OF MIND

Elegant, fluid, dynamic lines. At 4.69 metres in length, New Laguna's naturally balanced proportions ensure a dynamic stance, while the plunging shoulder line contributes to the new model's assertive, elegant looks. The waistline crease of the Saloon version extends across the boot and underneath the LED rear lights which give the car a distinctive night-time lighting signature.

A distinctive Estate with real personality. The dynamic, modern styling of the Estate version of New Laguna features a steeply-raked rear screen, while the generous glazed area of the rearmost side windows further accentuates the newcomer's assertive looks. A selection of advanced engines and transmissions.

New Laguna is available with a broad choice of powerplants, all mated to six-speed transmissions. Each one features as one of the best in its category in terms of driving comfort and fuel consumption performance. The petrol range will be built up gradually, beginning with the dynamic, smooth and quiet-running 2.0 16V (M4R). Jointly-developed by Renault and Nissan, this 145hp (103.4kW) unit features punch and torque from very low revs, plus feisty performance at higher engine speeds and remarkable acoustic comfort across the full revband. The petrol engine range also features the 170hp (125kW) 2.0 16V Turbo which is coupled to a six-speed Proactive automatic transmission. (posted on conceptcarz.com)

2009 Renault LagunaThe diesel range is based on two market benchmarks: the 1.5 dCi, which delivers 110hp (81kW) and strikes the segment's best balance between performance and fuel consumption. With CO2 emissions of just 136g/km, its also qualifies for 'eco-leader' status. Meanwhile, the 2.0 dCi block is available in a choice of three versions (130hp, 150hp and 175hp; respectively 96, 110 and 127kW), the second of which will be available with six-speed Proactive automatic transmission from launch. Equipped with a low inertia, variable geometry turbo and ultra-fast glow plugs, this version truly comes into its own under the bonnet of New Laguna.

A precise, responsive chassis. New Laguna's chassis features among the very best in its segment. Engineered by Renault to surpass the acclaimed dynamic performance of its predecessor, its steering precision and cornering roll control are sure to satisfy the most exacting drivers. Development focused on New Laguna's specific body-roll with front and rear suspension stiffness uprated by 20 and 50%, respectively, plus higher performance antiroll bars. For enhanced driving pleasure along twisty roads, New Laguna also features closer-ratio steering, as well as unrivalled filtering of the surface's irregularities and an even greater sense of contact with the road. At the same time, specific work was carried out on the dampers to ensure a remarkably comfortable ride.

RENAULT LAGUNA VOTED '2008 COMPANY CAR OF THE YEAR'

2009 Renault Laguna
The prize-giving ceremony organized in Paris July 3rd by the French fleet management magazine L'Automobile & L'Entreprise saw Renault Laguna take the '2008 Company Car of the Year' award. After receiving Automobile Magazine's Trophée de l'Innovation (Trophy for Innovation) in 2007 in recognition of its fourwheel steering chassis, as well as the '2007 Most Beautiful Car of the Year' and '2007 Most Beautiful Interior of the Year' prizes at the Festival Automobile International de Paris earlier in the year, this is the fourth time that Renault Laguna has been picked out for a leading award by automobile industry. Leader of its segment in France, Renault Laguna is a large saloon delivering pleasure and a reassuring drive. It facilitates ownership thanks to its exceptionally low running
costs with a three-year or 150,000km warranty and an eco2 130g/km CO2 emissions.

2009 Renault LagunaReassuring driving pleasure
Renault Laguna was engineered to deliver motoring pleasure and a reassuring drive for all occupants thanks to benchmark roadholding and outstanding comfort. Both on the passive safety front (it was the ninth Renault model to obtain a maximum five-star EuroNCAP rating) and in terms of active safety (latest-generation braking with reduced response time thanks to pre-filling of the system whenever it detects that the driver's foot has suddenly lifted from the accelerator pedal), Renault Laguna is comprehensively equipped with useful technology. At the same time, the quality of its materials and finish showcase the detailed attention that was paid to perceived quality, both inside and outside the vehicle.

2009 Renault Laguna
A large saloon with CO2 emissions of as low as 130g/km
Renault Laguna's environmentally-friendly credentials include the fitment of more than 35kg of plastics sourced from recycling, plus more than 15kg of other recycled materials. Similarly, more than 120kg of components can be treated directly by recycling processes. Meanwhile, contributing to its reduced fuel consumption, the different variants of New Renault Laguna are an average 15kg lighter than the equivalent previous generation version, and the delta is as much as 65kg in the case of the dCi 110hp-powered car. This affordable, widely-selling version boasts record low emissions for a saloon of its category and size. Its score of 130g of CO2/km works out at combined cycle fuel consumption of 4.9 litres/100km, ensuring that it combines the performance characteristics of a genuine tourer (110hp/240Nm) with particularly thrifty running costs.

2009 Renault Laguna
A three-year or 150,000km warranty for Renault Laguna
An uncompromising approach to quality unprecedented at Renault has been dialled into the design and manufacture of Renault Laguna. Customers can consequently count on a reassuring three-year/150,000km warranty (whichever comes first; unlimited mileage regarding the first two years), as well as a 12-year anti-corrosion warranty (thanks in part to wax-injected hollow sections). In terms of both the product itself and associated services, Renault Laguna embodies Renault's confidence when it comes to the achievement of its TOP3 Quality commitment.

2009 Renault Laguna
Economical good sense
Renault Laguna facilitates ownership thanks to its exceptionally low running costs and long servicing intervals, with oil changes recommended every 30,000km for naturallyaspirated petrol and diesel engines (new Oil Control System system), and every 20,000km in the case of turbocharged powerplants. Sparkplugs and diesel and air filters only need replacing every 60,000km, while the timing belt and accessories should be changed every 120,000km for petrol versions and every 160,000km in the case of dieselpowered cars (except 2.0 16V petrol and 2.0 dCi whose timing chains come with a lifetime guarantee). The air and diesel filters have a life expectancy of 60,000km. Last but by no means least, all the powerplants selected for the Renault Laguna range return low fuel
consumption in day-to-day use.

A comfortable leader in its segment
Since the start of the current year, almost 22,000 Renault Lagunas have been registered in France, which marks an increase of 65 per cent over the first half of 2007. Since its launch, the model has topped its segment with a 1.96 per cent share of the total passenger car market over the first six months of 2008/its career. In June, Renault
Laguna continued to dominate its segment with a share of 17.9 per cent. Estate versions account for approximately 30 per cent of all registrations.
