1957 Cadillac Series 75 Fleetwood

The 1975 Cadillac Series 75 Fleetwood rested on a 149.7-inch wheelbase which was by far, the largest Cadillac platform available. Its length was 236.2 inches, nearly a foot longer than Cadillac's second-largest 1975 vehicle, the Cadillac Series 60S. Although the biggest in the fleet, its $7,350 base price for the 9-passenger sedan was dwarfed by the cost of the Series 70 Eldorado Brougham which listed at just over $13,000. The Series 75 Imperial Sedan sold for $7,600. Cadillac built 1010 examples of the Series 75 Fleetwood sedan and 890 of the Imperial Sedan. An additional 2,169 examples were built as commercial chassis with a 156-inch wheelbase and often used as ambulances, funeral cars, or other commercial purposes.

The side trim of the Series 75 was the same as the Series 62 models but devoid of the Cadillac crest located on the rear fins. Power was from an overhead valve eight-cylinder engine displacing 365 cubic inches and developed 300 horsepower at 4,800 RPM, an increase of 10 hp over the prior year - thanks in part to a compression increase to 10:1. The engine was backed by a Hydra-Matic drive, and standard equipment included power steering and brakes. Amenities included air conditioning, radios, and heaters.

It served as a replacement for the outgoing 355-D and was introduced around the same time as the less-expensive Series 60 model. Outwardly, the Series 80, including the 85, were similar....
