2010 CADILLAC CTS SPORT WAGON ELEVATES AND ADVANCES A CLASSIC BODY STYLE

Cadillac's first-ever North American wagon is a progressive take on the classic wagon body style that delivers significant functionality and fuel efficiency, including up to an estimated 28 mpg highway. It is a unique vehicle intended to connect with the changing priorities of luxury consumers. The CTS Sport Wagon is essentially the same size as the acclaimed CTS sport sedan on the outside. However, the new Sport Wagon nearly doubles carrying capacity, with 25 cubic feet (720 liters) of space behind the rear seats; and 53.4 cubic feet (1,523 liters) with the rear seat folded. Design highlights include: • Signature V-shaped deck and tailgate motif • Large, vertical taillamps with light-pipe technology • Power-opening liftgate (via key fob or in-vehicle button) • CHMSL-integrated roof spoiler • Integrated roof load management system with cross bars for a seamless appearance
• Cargo management system with adjustable in-floor containment • New 19-inch wheels • Large available panoramic rear sunroof Available features include those of the well-appointed CTS Sport Sedan, including all-wheel drive, a 40-gigabyte internal hard drive, pop-up navigation screen and a hand-cut-and-sewn cabin. Design details 'It's a taut, sleek design,' said Clay Dean, global design director for Cadillac. 'The drama of the sedan is amplified in the wagon, as the centerline cue that is part of the exterior and interior is more prominent and plays a stronger role in defining the design at the rear of the vehicle.' One of the more interesting integrations of form and function is the seamless roof load management system. Rather than stylized stanchions, brackets and cross bars that protrude above the roof line, the CTS Sport Wagon's system blends with the roofline, maintaining an uninterrupted appearance. The center section of the roof panel angles downward inside the roof edges, allowing an unobtrusive placement of the cross bars – and creating a subtle fin effect at the trailing edges of the rear panels. 'They're not fins in the classic sense, but they work to help disguise the cargo load system and they acknowledge Cadillac's design heritage. Functionality was certainly a guiding factor during development, but so was our desire to inject emotion into the normally sedate wagon category,' said Dean. The interior of the Sport Wagon is common with the sedan, including streamlined instrumentation, LED lighting and hand-cut-and-sewn accents with French stitching. Powertrains

Cadillac CTS Wins Car And Driver Magazine's Highest Award For The 3rd Consecutive Year
Cadillac's CTS product line, the centerpiece of the brand's revised lineup, has been selected by Car and Driver magazine for its annual '10Best' list for the third consecutive year.'10Best winners are those vehicles that crack the greatness code, offering that elusive combination of driving enjoyment, mission fulfillment, and value,' said Eddie Alterman, Car and Driver editor-in-chief. 'That the CTS has made the list for a third consecutive year is a tribute to the Cadillac's fundamental integrity and staying power'
Cadillac's CTS Sport Sedan is the core of the brand, and initially was selected to Car and Driver's 10Best in 2008. The high-performance 556-horsepower (415 kW) CTS-V model drove CTS back on to the 10Best list for 2009. And the new CTS Sport Wagon model that went on sale in September helped the CTS achieve the '3-Peat' this year.

Car and Driver's twenty-eight annual 10Best Award is the magazine's highest honor, reserved for entirely new or substantially updated cars, and previous winners. Fifty-eight of the industry's top new vehicles competed this year in the magazine's extensive test. The entire 10Best award report appears in the January 2010 edition of the magazine, on newsstands now.Source - Cadillac
Cadillac CTS-V Takes Top Honors In Texas
The Cadillac CTS-V has been named the 2010 Car of Texas by the Texas Auto Writers Association after topping the competition this week at the group's Spring Challenge. The event pitted the newest models in the Ú.S. market against each other in a series of test drives at Texas Motor Speedway. About 40 auto writers participated in this year's event and voted on their favorite cars in a variety of categories.
The CTS-V earned the highest honor with its selection as 'Writers' Choice – The Car of Texas.' It was the second time CTS-V received the award. The CTS-V also won the Car of Texas distinction in 2004.

CTS-V, a high-performance version of the CTS Sedan, has pushed the Cadillac experience to a new level since its introduction in 2004. The most recent model has a 6.2L supercharged V-8 engine rated at 556 horsepower.
The CTS-V features high-performance Brembo brakes, specially designed Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires and Magnet Ride Control technology, the world's fastest reacting suspension system. The V-Series will be extended later this year with the CTS-V Sport Wagon and CTS-V Coupe.
Texas car buyers are strong supporters of the Cadillac brand. Last year, Texas accounted for about 11 percent of total Cadillac sales, ranking it behind only California and Michigan. Dallas and Houston ranked 7th and 13th, respectively, among Ú.S. metro areas in terms of sales volume.
Dallas and Houston car buyers also have shown strong demand for V-Series. The V-Series accounted for 9.5 percent of all CTS Sedan's sold in Houston and 7.6 percent of CTS Sedans sold in Dallas, both higher than the national average of 6.6 percent.
'Cadillac is honored to have the CTS-V chosen as this year's Texas Car of the Year,' said Don Butler, Ú.S. vice president of Cadillac marketing. 'Texas is a key market for high-end autos. We're confident the CTS-V delivers the amenities that luxury buyers demand along with the power and agility sought by sports car enthusiasts.'Source - Cadillac
