2010 Jaguar XF

Award-winning Jaguar XFR stars at Frankfurt Motor Show

aguar's award-winning 2010 XFR sports saloon – part of the new Jaguar showroom – is on public display at the Frankfurt IAA International Motor Show, which opened to the media on September 15, 2009. The 510PS supercharged XFR is top of the XF range – which recently won the Auto Express 2009 Best Executive Car award for the second year running – and shared the Jaguar showstand with the mighty XKR sports coupe and stunning new flagship saloon, the XJ Supersport.

Jaguar also announced the introduction of three major new options packs designed exclusively for the XF Diesel S (dependent on market). The XF Diesel S is powered by Jaguar's new 3.0-litre 275PS V6 twin-turbocharged diesel engine and sets new standards for performance and efficiency. Acceleration of 0-60mph in just 5.9 seconds and a top speed of 155mph, is matched with fuel economy of up to 42mpg on the combined cycle and 179g/km CO2 emissions.

Three new option packs – the Dynamics Pack, Aerodynamic Pack and Interior Pack – are available individually or in combination, taking choice and personalisation to a new level, and offering even greater driver enjoyment.

2010 Jaguar XFThe Dynamics Pack includes Jaguar's acclaimed Adaptive Dynamics system – previously only available on the XFR – which is designed to sharpen the already impressive handling and agility of the XF Diesel S. Adaptive Dynamics is a highly sophisticated active damping system which automatically adjusts suspension damper settings to suit both road conditions and the way in which the car is being driven. Únlike earlier systems with only a small number of steps in the damper settings, it offers a progressively variable damping strategy between wide extremes, to deliver a comfortable but sporty ride with impressively sharp handling.

The Aerodynamic Pack adds an even more dynamic face to the XF Diesel S. The unique front bumper design features stunning black mesh inserts for the grille and lower air intakes, and for even more visual drama, the sculpted lower air intake blades can also be specified with bright-white LED daytime running lights. Along the side sills there are sculpted appliqués, while at the rear, the boot lid features a distinctive lip spoiler.

The XF Diesel S Interior Pack features 18-way (driver) and 14-way (passenger) front sports seats originally developed for the supercharged XFR. Power adjustable raised side bolsters are designed to keep driver and passenger firmly in place when cornering, and ensure exceptional lateral support. And to further heighten the sporting look of the cabin, the XF Diesel S Interior Pack includes stunning, high-gloss Piano Black veneer – a feature that is only available with this option.

'With the 2010 XF range we set out to design, develop and build the definitive Jaguar sports saloon. Now with magnificent new petrol and diesel engines, representing the very latest in advanced power and technology, the 2010 Model Year XF is even more thrilling to drive.' Mike O'Driscoll, Managing Director, Jaguar Cars
