1986 Porsche 928 S

The Porsche 928, with its 283 cubic-inch V-8 engine, continued into 1984 without any major change. The following year, however, the engine was enlarged to 5-liters and horsepower also increased, reaching nearly 290 BHP. The dual-overhead-cam V8 was given a Bosch LH-Jetronic fuel injection system and mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. For those wanting a manual gearbox, a 5-speed was available as optional equipment. Disc brakes were located at all four corners and steering was handled by a rack-and-pinion unit.

The 1985 Porsche 928 S, introduced in December of 1984, came standard with a powered hatch release, locking storage compartment, and a center locking console switch. The 2-door, 2+2 coupe had a base price of $50,000.

For 1986, Porsche added anti-lock brakes as standard on the 928S Coupe. The price remained the same.
