GWR Kia on cloud nine with new EV showcase

• New EV9 showcase installed for thousands to see at one of the largest Kia dealerships in the UK

A new Kia EV9 showcase has been installed for hundreds of thousands of travellers along the M4 to enjoy, on the top floor of one of the largest and most prominently positioned Kia dealerships in the UK.

GWR Kia, operated by Norton Way Group, has a prominent position on the Great West Road in Brentford, West London. Its top floor glass façade overlooks an elevated section of the M4 motorway, one of Britain's busiest roads. The transformation of its top floor – one of four storeys – puts Kia's new flagship electric SUV, the EV9, front and centre, with a striking display of four cars, each finished in Pacific Blue. The showcase was installed during a major overnight transformation and incorporates key design motifs from the EV9, including its distinctive vertical LED headlamps.

GWR Kia opened its doors in August 2016, and is one of the largest dealerships in the UK. Responsible for almost 3,000 (2,898) new Kia sales in 2023 alone, and thousands of approved used vehicles, its prominent position also makes it one of the most visited. In addition to displaying the entire Kia line-up, including electric, hybrid and plug-in hybrid vehicles, the dealership also has its own café, located on the ground floor and open to customers and the public. The dealership also sells its Approved Used stock and has an extensive workshop on the lower ground floor.

The dealership also features a range of sustainability technologies to reduce its environmental impact. These include air source heat pumps, roof-mounted solar panels, water harvesting systems, and low-energy LED lights throughout.

Rebranding the Kia UK network

Since Kia unveiled its new brand identity globally in 2021, Kia UK has been rolling out its new 'Global Store Concept' to around 190 dealers across the country. More than half of all dealerships have now adopted the new brand identity, with more implementing the new identity each month. GWR Kia is due to complete this process in the second half of 2024.

The Kia EV9

The Kia EV9 is UK Car of the Year 2024, World Car of the Year 2024 and has won a slew of other accolades since UK deliveries began at the start of the year. It is one of the most versatile new EVs on sale, offering a choice of six- or seven-seat configurations; a choice of rear- or all-wheel drive powertrains; and three comprehensively equipped trim levels. The EV9 is priced from £65,025 on-the-road, offering an electric driving range of up to 349 miles (WLTP Combined)* from a single charge of its standard 99.8kWh battery, complete with ultra-fast charging, capable of adding 154 miles in 15 minutes**. The EV9 also features Kia's seven-year/100,000-mile warranty as standard, ensuring maximum peace of mind for customers.
