1934 Morris 10/4 Navigation

Four-Door Tourer
Chassis #: 35TN40109
William Morris introduced some of Henry Ford's production line methods in Britain. He was successful in producing smaller cars for the masses, and in turn, made a small fortune. The MG is so named from Morris Garages, where the marque originated. The Morris Company introduced the 10/4 in 1933 and it was a rather significant move, as it moved the company up from light cars. Power was from a 1300cc four-cylinder engine and hydraulic brakes provided the stopping power. There were several body styles available, including a saloon, coupe, two-seat tourer with rumble seat, and a traveler. This 10/4 Four-Door Tourer was first registered in Staffordshire in late 1934. It is a right-hand drive model finished in burgundy color offset by the deep red upholstery. The black top has a tan cover to conceal it when folded.
In 2010, this 4-Door Tourer was offered for sale at the Exceptional Motorcars and Automobilia auction presented by Bonhams. As bidding came to a close, the car had been sold for the sum of $18,135 inclusive of buyer's premium.
