The Boss is Back! It's leaner, meaner, more powerful and ready to take on everything....on and off the track. The new Boss 302 engine is a 444 horsepower version of the high-tech Ford 5.0L 4V Ti-VCT V8 engine. It features an aluminum block, aluminum heads, forged-aluminum pistons, forged-steel connecting rods, a high-energy coil-on-plug ignition system, a composite shell-welded intake manifold with runner pack, and exhaust manifold with tubular stainless steel headers. All that power is channeled through a short-throw, close-ratio six-speed manual transmission with a race-inspired clutch.
Front performance components include independent MacPherson struts with reverse-L lower control arms, a 34.6 mm tubular stabilizer bar, a strut tower brace and manually-adjustable strut damping. In the rear, there's a 3-link sold axle with limited-slip differential, coil springs, a Panhard bar, a 25.0 mm stabilizer bar, and manually-adjustable shock damping.
The unique electric power-assisted (EPAS) rack-and-pinion steering on the Boss 302 has driver-selectable comfort, normal and sport models. The driver also has control over the fully-defeatable traction control system (TCS) and electronic stability control (ESC) settings.
Sure stopping power is delivered by four-wheel power disc brakes with ABS, featuring 14-inch vented front discs with four-piston Brembo floating aluminum calipers and 11.8-inch vented rear discs, with single-piston floating iron calipers.
The unique appearance and attitude of the Boss 302 in Kona Blue and White
includes an aggressive front spoiler, an aerodynamic rear spoiler, a quad-pipe exhaust system with noise-attenuated side outlets and lightweight, wide-spoke painted-aluminum wheels (19 x 9-inch front, 19x9.5-inch rear) with Pirelli P Zero tires (255/40ZR19 front, 285/35ZR19 rear).
