1935 Dreyer Bagley Cragar Special

1935 Dreyer Bagley Cragar Special 1935 Dreyer Bagley Cragar Special 1935 Dreyer Bagley Cragar Special Floyd 'Pop' Dreyer ranks as one of the most innovative and prolific sprint car builders in racing history. The former daredevil motorcycle rider moved to Indianapolis, from Ohio, in 1925. He was hired as a welder by the Duesenberg Brothers. Several years later, 'Pop' went out on his own. He quickly established himself as one of the finest sprint car body and chassis builders in the country.

This 1935 Bagley Cragar Special is a dirt track sprint car that was first owned by John Bagley. The vehicle was built by Floyd 'Pop' Dreyer and Joe Silnes at Dreyer's shop in Indianapolis, Indiana. Joe Silnes also built the current body of the car.

The engine design was by Leo Goosen, Miller's chief draftsman/engineer. The engine is a direct ancestor of the highly successful 4-cylinder Offy.

Although the vehicle is called a Cragar, it is correctly a Miller-Schofield.

This car was one in the ownership of George 'Doc' McKenzie and then sold to Milwaukee's own Tony Willman. William was successful in the car in the midwest and east, mostly in 100 mile races.
