1991 GMC Syclone

The GMC Syclone, when introduced, was the fastest stock pickup truck in the world. It was also the first production truck to receive 4-wheel anti-lock brakes.

The Syclone was a high-performance version of the GMC Sonoma Pickup truck. They featured a turbocharged 6-cylinder displacing 4.3 liters and offering 280 horsepower. They had a 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission and Borg Warner all-wheel-drive transfer case splitting torque with 35 percent forward and 65 percent to the rear wheels.

The GMC Syclone could accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 4.6 seconds and could run the quarter-mile run in 13.4 seconds.

The only color available on the 1991 Syclones was black. The 1992 models were available in a wider range of colors. 2,995 Syclones were built in 1992 and 3 in 1992.
