1987 BMW M6

The BMW M635CSi version arrived in 1984. The engine was a development of the M1 supercar's 3.5-liter, 24-valve, six-cylinder unit offering nearly 290 horsepower. With this increase in power over the standard 6-Series engine, BMW engineers had to make chassis improvements which included altered weight distribution, bigger brakes, a limited-slip differential, and a revised suspension. The engine was mated to a close-ratio five-speed (or four-speed multi-mode auto) gearbox. The interior became more luxurious and the exterior was given the 'M Technic' body kit.

The BMW M635CSi was capable of reaching 100 km/h in around 6 seconds and had a top speed in excess of 250 km/h.
