1956 Ford F100 Navigation
1953 was ford's golden anniversary and part of their celebration involved the introduction of a new truck. The new 1953 pickup F-100 truck would be produced from 1953 through 1956. It was a solid, well-designed and rugged vehicle with a stylish exterior and a comfortable interior. A total of 116,437 examples were produced that year followed by 101,202 the following year. By 1956, production had risen to 137,581 examples of the short bed and 25,122 for the long bed. Wheelbase sizes ranged from 110 to 118 inches with 189.1 to 203.2-inches in length. Pricing ranged from $1,330 to $1,610.The 1953 Ford Pickup was powered by an overhead valve 215 cubic-inch six-cylinder engine offering just over 100 horsepower. A 239 CID OHV V8 was also available, with 110 available horsepower. A 223 'Mileage Maker' CID OHV inline 6 became available in 1954 and would remain in the Ford pickup through 1956. A 239 CID V8 was also available in 1954, offering 130 horsepower. For 1955, a 272 CID V8 became available with 162 horsepower. It was also available for 1956 though horsepower had grown to 173 hp.A variety of transmission options were available, including three, four or five gears. A medium- or heavy-duty gearbox was available to the customers to accommodate a vast market and needs. An automatic or a manual with overdrive was also available.

The 1956 Ford pickup had a wraparound windshield which replaced the previous years slanted, front windshield pillars. Another new feature was the electric windshield wipers which replaced the vacuum wipers. The 1956 models had a new 12-volt electrical system and a redesigned grille, exterior lights, and vent windows.

This 1956 Ford F100 Pickup wears a fresh, body-off restoration that was finished in 2012. It has an updated 302 CID engine, an automatic transmission, and new wide whitewall tires. The brake system has been rebuilt and there is a new oak bed with stainless strips.
