NAVY MARINE CORPS RELIEF SOCIETY RECEIVES AMELIA ISLAND CONCOURS D'ELEGANCE ANNUAL CHARITY DONATION
July 14, 2017 by Amelia Island ConcoursCreated to provide financial, educational and other need-based assistance to active-duty and retired Sailors and Marines, the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society provides assistance to the men and women who serve our country, their families, and survivors. On July 5, The Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance met with representatives from Naval Station Mayport to present the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society with a check for $20,000. 'Being able to invest into the lives of the men and women of Florida's First Coast who bravely serve our country is one of the greatest benefits of our work at The Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance Foundation,' said Bill Warner, founder and Chairman. The Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance's tradition of giving to local charities of northeast Florida has been the foundation of the Concours since its founding in 1996. 'For seven years in a row Amelia has been the largest single donor to the Mayport Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society Office,' said Capt. Bill Kennedy, NMCRS Mayport Director. 'That money helps provide funds on a daily basis for emergency travel, an unexpected death of a family member, paying bills or helping with a needed car repair. In my 15 years as Director no other organization can match what The Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance has done for the Sailors, Marines and their families.'
