2013 Scion xD

The xD's distinct exterior is characterized by aggressive styling— a wide stance, thick muscular body, a long and narrow back window, accentuated wheel flares, an integrated rectangular lower and upper grille, and horizontal headlamps. The xD also features side mirrors wîth integrated turn signals. The xD rolls on 16-inch steel wheels and 195/60 R16 tires. Customers can choose from three standard wheel covers, which are also shared wîth the xB.

The xD sits on a short, wide frame for a pleasing ride. To help enhance control, the xD features an L-arm type MacPherson strut in the front and torsion beam suspension in the rear. The xD stops wîth front-ventilated disc and rear-drum brakes.

Interior Details
The instrument panel features indicator lamps, an LCD fuel gauge, odometer and a unique, radar-like speedometer and tachometer. The digital clock, and HVAC and audio controls flow down the center console.



For versatility, leg room and added cargo space, the rear seats can slide forward and back up to six inches. The rear seats also can recline ten degrees and be adjusted into five different positions for additional comfort.

Mono-spec Features
Like all Scion vehicles the xD comes mono-spec wîth a surprising array of standard features. Customers only need to choose exterior color and transmission type. The xD's standard features include power §teering, windows, door locks and mirrors; remote keyless entry; air conditioning; four-wheel anti-lock brakes (ABS) wîth Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BA); Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) wîth Traction Control (TRAC); a tire pressure monitor system; driver and front-passenger dual-stage airbags; front-seat-mounted side airbags; front and rear side-curtain airbags; cruise control; first-aid kit; and tilt §teering wheel wîth audio controls.

All Scion models come wîth complimentary factory-recommended maintenance services at the first 5,000 mile and 10,000 mile intervals, to be performed by an authorized Scion or Toyota dealership.

Andrew Comrie-Picard Drives Scion Rally xD to Season Opener Victory

Scion Racing Leads Two-Wheel Drive Class in Rally America National Championship

TORRANCE, Calif. (Jan. 29, 2013) – Driver Andrew Comrie-Picard and co-driver Jeremy Wimpey earned Scion Racing its first win of the season and its first ever top finish at the Sno*Drift event on Jan. 26 in Atlanta, Mich. The pair crossed the finish line five minutes ahead of the competition in the two-wheel (2WD) drive class.



ACP and Wimpey piloted the Scion Racing Rally xD through 20 challenging snow covered stages, winning all but one of them in the 2WD class. The victory marks the second victory together for Comrie-Picard and the Scion Racing Rally xD team.

'We couldn't have asked for a better start to the season,' said Phillip Chase, team manager. 'The enhancements to the new car have proven to be successful for the first race, and we are already working to be even more competitive for the next race. We have a great team and we are looking forward to a great season.'

Scion Racing Prepares for Competitive 2013 Rally America National Championship

• New Scion xD Race Car to Kick Off Year at Sno*Drift Event

TORRANCE, Calif. (Jan. 23, 2013) - Scion Racing returns for its second full rally season with a new Scion xD in the Rally America National Championship. Driver Andrew Comrie-Picard and the team will compete in seven scheduled events, beginning with the two-day Sno*Drift Rally in Atlanta, Mich., on Jan. 25-26.

The Scion rally team celebrates the new season with a brand new xD race car that has been augmented to meet the challenging courses and elevated competition. Modifications to the 2013 car include all-new suspension, improved weight distribution, dog engagement transmission and more horsepower.

'Scion Racing is ready and thrilled to be a part of the 2013 Rally America National Championship,' said Steve Hatanaka, Scion marketing and special events manager. 'The combination of the xD subcompact, a top-notch team race team and one of rally's best drivers, Andrew Comrie-Picard, is sure to create a competitive and exciting series.'

Last year, the Rally xD team completed its first full season in the Rally America National Championship. After six challenging events, the team finished second in the two-wheel drive (2WD) category of the series.
