2014 Ford Flex

2014 Ford Flex
The 2014 Ford Flex seven-passenger crossover combines power, fuel economy, intuitive technology and driver-aid features in a can't-miss package.2014 Ford Flex
Key features include:

2014 Ford Flex
•The standard 3.5-liter V6 engine in the 2014 Ford Flex features twin independent variable camshaft timing that controls when the valves open and close to improve overall performance. This advanced V6 is mated to an equally advanced six-speed SelectShift® automatic transmission, and combine to deliver 287 horsepower and 254 lb.-ft. of torque with an EPA rating of 18 mpg city and 25 mpg on the highway
•Available 3.5-liter EcoBoost® V6 engine produces 365 horsepower and 350 lb.-ft. of torque across a wide range (1,500 to 5,250 rpm) with an EPA rating of 16 mpg city and 23 mpg highway
•SYNC® with MyFord Touch® driver connect technology combines the connectivity of SYNC with voice commands with a full-color 8-inch touch screen in the center stack and 4.2-inch LCD screens in the instrument cluster to make vehicle functions, settings and information easily accessible to the driver through voice, steering wheel controls or a simple tap
•Available second-row inflatable belts offer improved comfort and protection for passengers. The advanced restraint system is designed to help reduce head, neck and chest injuries for second-row passengers, often children and older passengers who can be more vulnerable to such injuries
•Available PowerFold® third-row seat flips and folds the seat from full seven-passenger seating with the seatbacks in their normal upright position to a flat load floor, providing extra space for cargo at the touch of a button
•Available second-row refrigerated console can chill up to seven 12-ounce cans, four half-liter bottles or two 20-ounce bottles down to 41 degrees Fahrenheit; the freeze mode goes down to 23 degrees Fahrenheit
•Active park assist uses ultrasonic sensors to help take the stress out of parallel parking. Simply press a button and the sensors locate a parking space. Once a spot is selected, Flex steers into place with the driver controlling the transmission, gas and brake
•Available Navigation System with SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link combines GPS technology with 3D mapping and provides voice-guided turn-by-turn directions. SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link provide detailed traffic information, plus current and forecast weather, gas station locations and prices, sports scores and schedules, and theater locations with movie listings and times
•Available radar-enabled adaptive cruise control and collision warning with brake support and Blind Spot Information System (BLIS®) with cross-traffic alert help drivers avoid potential accidents using radar to detect the relative position of other vehicles and warn the driver with a combination of visual and audio alerts
•Flex offers Intelligent AWD, which continuously monitors vehicle and driver inputs, predicts traction, and automatically delivers the precise amount of engine torque needed to all the wheels – even before slippage occurs. AWD is an option with the 3.5-liter Ti-VCT V6 engine. It's included on models powered by the available 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6
•Torque Vectoring Control uses the vehicle's brakes to imitate the effect of a limited-slip differential, constantly balancing the distribution of engine torque between the front wheels during cornering, resulting in improved grip and steering and a reduced chance of understeer
•Curve Control senses when a vehicle is entering a curve too quickly, and can apply four-wheel smart braking to reduce vehicle speed by up to 10 mph in approximately one second and help drivers follow their intended path. When a vehicle enters a curve too fast, the system responds to the driver's steering input by rapidly reducing torque and increasing brake pressure to help keep the vehicle under control
•New exterior colors (late availability): Sunset Metallic and Oxford White
•MSRP: Starting at $31,100 plus $895 destination and delivery charges
•Production location: Oakville Assembly Complex, Oakville, Ontario
