1960 OSCA 750 S

After the termination of a 10-year contract with Adolfo Orsi and following the sales of their shares to Orsi 10 years before, the Maserati brothers (Ernesto, Ettoro, and Bindo) departed the company that bore their name. They founded Officine Specializzate Construzione Automobili in 1947 and selected their former factory of Maserati manufacturing located in San Lazzaro di Saveno near Bologna. OSCA quickly established a reputation with class and overall wins at race tracks all over the globe.

Perhaps their most celebrated victory was in 1954, when Stirling Moss and Bill Lloyd won the 12 Hours of Sebring behind the wheel of an OSCA MT4 entered by Briggs Cunningham. This was a tremendous accomplishment considering the fierce competition it faced and its smaller size engine. The little OSCA certainly lived up to its 'Giant Killer' reputation.

The first OSCA prototype, introduced in 1948, was the MT4 - an acronym for Maserati Tipo 4. It was built entirely at the OSCA factory and was a small cycle-fendered 'Siluro' (torpedo) sports car with power from a well-engineered 1,092cc overhead-camshaft engine. Approximately 78 OSCA Mt4s were built by the factory, with the final versions being powered by a version of the 4-cylinder, 1500cc, twin-cam engine. The next evolution of the OSCA MT4 was the TN - short for Tipo Nuovo, which means new type. The OSCA MT4 TN appeared in 1955 and was built on a revised, longer chassis with power from a 1500cc engine.

OSCA later built the 750 S intended for the 750cc class in endurance racing. Just 18 examples were built.
