Synchro Motorsport Crowned Creventic24H Champions
October 12, 2017 by HondaSynchro Motorsport, the voluntary race team based at Honda's Swindon factory, has won the Creventic24H series and claimed their first ever international championship. The team secured their victory in Belgium, placing third in class at the recent Spa Francorchamps race (7-8 September 2017). In their most successful season to date, Synchro placed in every race they entered in Creventic's international Touring Car Endurance (TCE) series, achieving first place at Silverstone and Barcelona. The Honda team returned to the UK loaded with silverware as they were crowned Overall TCE Champions, Overall TCE Driver Champions, A3 Class Champions and A3 Driver Champions. Alyn James, Team Principal and driver for Synchro Motorsport said: 'In my 17 years with the team, this is without doubt the best and most successful season so far. Winning the Creventic24H series championship demonstrates the incredibly high-standard of associates we have in our team.' The factory-based race team provides Honda associates the chance to develop skills outside of their normal job role and take those skills back into the business. Synchro Motorsport's use of racing for personal development stems from Soichiro Honda's early visions for his company and an ethos still wildly promoted to this day. Robin Tremblin, Team Manager of Synchro Motorsport added: 'Everyone in the team has played a part in our success this year. From the business support to our race day mechanics, we can all feel incredibly proud of our achievements.'
